Nasi Lemak... Malaysia's National Dish
Malaysians's very own authentic fragrant rice, Nasi Lemak which is cooked with coconut milk and screwpine leaves (daun pandan)...
The common condiments usually consists of a piece of salted fish, a slice of hard boiled egg, some peanuts, fried anchovies and a slice of cucumber with spicy sambal/sauce.IMG_4872.JPG
Some nasi lemak are wrapped with a banana leaf which is the original version.

Those days nasi lemak were served as breakfast . But today they are taken at anytime of the day. Prices also differs depending on the condiments. Some are packed with a piece of fried chicken, sauted squids, beef rendang or curry chicken. Some are served with shredded beef (serunding daging...
These days nasi lemak are sold at any eatery outlets and restaurants. Unlike those days when nasi lemak were sold on foot, ferrying from house to house , carried in a basket for 50 cents only!
