RE: Caramel Banana Butter: New, Exciting, Festive Recipe from our Über Dank Pantry for Your Season's Eatings!

in #food7 years ago

Yes in our outdoor rocket stoves we burn discarded fence panels. In our outdoor grill, cob oven, and indoor stove we burn chopped wood from trees that blew down in storms that our neighbors needed cleared from their land. All of it was going to end up in a landfill if we didn't give it new value!

Yes cast iron skillets are perfect for cooking over fire! They are nice and heavy and distribute the heat evenly, and yes they do get to be nonstick if they are properly cared for! We use them for almost everything, except something that requires a big pot like boiling water for potatoes or pasta or something like that.

Thanks for reading & taking the time to comment, @themanwithnoname!

Great use of resources. Sure beats paying $5 for a small pack of wood at the grocery store. :)

Last week I made steaks in the skillet. I seasoned with Monreal. Two minutes each side on high heat. Sear the sides as desired. Put immediately into over for 2-4 minutes on 375. Then let sit for 5-7 minutes. It turned out really well.

Note: Don't eat undercooked meat. ;)
