Mouthgasmic Food Formulas: BACON WRAPPED TURKEY MEATLOAF
We are grateful for the opportunity to share food here in the Garden of Eden!
One way we do that is by giving away free food every single day, and we extend the offer to you too because we are here to help one and all: if you or anyone you know wants or needs food, contact us - we will give you free food, no questions asked.
Another way we do that is by preparing daily feasts for our full time volunteers and having communal meals together, which we love to share on the blockchain!
Photographs are a great way to share food across time and space to bring people together, and we also love to share the recipes behind the photos to inspire you to recreate the yumminess in your own kitchen & share with family and friends!
Today, we want to share an excellent food formula for BACON WRAPPED TURKEY MEATLOAF:
This meatloaf has a secret ingredient - chicken livers! They are extremely nutritious, with high amounts of protein, iron, zinc, B vitamins, vitamin A, phosphorous, copper, and selenium. They are also quite tasty, but most people have an automatic negative reaction to liver and won't eat it on alone.
This is a great way to add the super nutrition of the chicken livers to your meal without needing anyone to eat straight up livers! All the nutrition is there but you can barely detect the livery taste, and the bacon helps to cover it up even more.
Ingredients:
- ground turkey
- chicken livers
- bacon
- bell peppers
- onions
- cumin
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- rosemary
- parsley
- thyme
- ketchup
- diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
- eggs
Volumes depend on how many people you are feeding as well as your own taste preferences. We will share the formula here and you are welcome to experiment to find exactly how you like it! Cooking can be lots of fun because there is plenty of room for full customization!
Method:
Start by sautéing diced bell peppers and onions.
Cook chicken livers and onions.
Put ground turkey in a big bowl.
Add sautéed chicken livers.
Add onions and bell peppers.
Add spices and eggs.
Add some ketchup and a can or jar of diced tomatoes or tomato sauce and mix thoroughly.
Line the bottom of a dutch oven, pan, or crock pot with bacon.
Add the meatloaf mixture.
Top with another layer of bacon.
Cook until it is all cooked through. We prepared this on top of our wood burning stove. You could also bake it in a 350F oven to get the bacon crispy, or use a crock pot!
Serve and enjoy!
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is one of our rocket stoves in action - we built it by hand out of dirt.

here I though this was a vegan brand....
Nice food dishes. These are spicey one. Looking so nice. Good for health. They are proteinous. Thanks for sharing the post.
You're welcome~
I haven't tried liver before. I thought it was more popular when my parents were growing up. The turkey bacon around the meatloaf looks good though. I imagine it gives a bit of depth to the flavor of the meatloaf... and well, it's bacon!
Yes liver used to be a popular dish, but somehow organ meats fell out of favor. The are considered "peasant food" or something...in reality, they are very nutritious, and it is very wasteful and in our opinion dishonorable not to use every part of an animal slaughtered solely for human consumption!
It looks delicious and if it's with bacon I think it's more delicious they are great chefs
Thank you!
Please keep posting photos of amazing looking food containing bacon... it's really helping me hit my fitness goals this week haha
LOL!
I loved this dish. The turkey is so delicious. I really liked all the photos, it's easier to prepare if we have a guide.
I would love for you to take a look at my step by step Chilis with cheese and nachos. Greetings.
Thanks @saych, appreciate the feedback! Took a look at your post. Looks like a nice recipe, but you cook over gas...there's nothing awesome about that.
I like that mixture of meatballs I can prepare it in the form of balls with sauce or wrap them in bacon thanks for the recipe
Oh yes this is very versatile and would indeed make excellent meatballs!
God that sounds and looks absolutely delicious. Thank you for this, gotta try it for sure.
Hope you enjoy!
