How To Make Healthy Chopped Salad dailyfoodphotography

This tableau is your view of a half-made salad and the ingredients yet to come.

So far in this salad you see:

  • Cilantro
  • Cabbage
  • Cucumbers
  • Apples
  • Coconut Oil
  • Lime Juice
  • Turmeric
  • Black Pepper
  • Dulse

Ingredients to come

  • Sardines
  • Purple Rice cooked from the street
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Organic Powdered Raw Honey – so yum! The sweetness cuts the ACV and lime juice beautifully. I overdose on the sour because of the fish. I cannot eat any fish without lime or vinegar - another reason you don't need to eat like me. I've never had honey powder before and now I love it. Great with ginger tea - another post I will do!

This is a huge amount of salad and will be at least two meals once I get it all mixed together.

Sardines and apples in a salad? Yes!

Canned sardines? Yes!

For some reason I have always loved canned sardines. I've made videos about them and this is one of my sardine meals from back in my messy California kitchen.

Sardines they are very good in Thailand compared to what I was used to in the states. Plus, of course, much less expensive. I pay 14 thb for the can you see above which is often two meals.

I know all about the hazards of fish and still eat them a few times a week. I go for small fish that are not farmed, do heavy metal detox, and hope for the best.

Fish can be delicious and healthy here in Thailand and they can also kill it by deep-frying or with heavy sauces. But I find healthier fish to eat here whenever I want it.

I feel like my salads are very advanced for obese people to look at and want to try for themselves. I don’t think I would have looked from when I was 275 pounds and feeling hopeless.

In a coaching situation, I would never serve this right out of the gate. My way is to start with what you already eat and enjoy. Then add nutrition to it and subtract the worst offenders as we can. A few weeks or months of that and you are ready for salad!

Few of my clients have the number of food sensitivities as I do. So their diet can be more broad. This is another reason I shy away from presenting my own food. You don’t need to eat like me. You just need to use good principals, choices, and methods for the food you do eat, and I can help you with that.
