That is definitely a cold weather dish, @richman. I think it's even cold enough here to try it. How about using chicken instead of duck?
Agreed that it's a cold weather dish, usually ducks are cooked in autumn here.
Chicken is fine too, but apples actually will not help it. There is something special in a combination of a duck with winter green apples.
