Tasty Chinese food #2 - Mapo Toufu
My next favorite Chinese dish is a dish from Sichuan Province China. The name is Mapo doufu or Mapo tofu.
It is a Chinese dish popular all over China and even outside China. I tried Mapo Doufu in Old Sichuan Restaurant in New York. Though it was not as spicy as the one I had in Chengdu, Capital city on Sichuan, the Toufu still tasted very good.
The dish of Mapo tofu is made up of spicy sauce, Chinese tofu (Really don't how to say in English :-) )and beef mince. It is typically covered by thin, bright, red oil, and mixed with preserved black beans.
The genuine Mapo doufu is very spicy and always plays as a good company of steamed rice in China.
Together with Lao Gan Ma, Mapo toufu is sure to light up your stomach in icy cold winter.
