Lubing my Arteries

A good friend of mine just survived a stroke. As I approach my 64 th birthday, I am in heart attack territory. I am 25 pounds over weight and have telltale creases in my earlobes. Time to take action. I took the advice of Dr. Gundry, former heart surgeon with more than 10,000 heart surgeries behind him who turned to restorative medicine to save lives. He recommends lubing your arteries with olive oil; eating three servings of greens a day, no sugar or grains and definitely no beans unless pressure cooked. My birthday is at the end of April so I began today, this being the first of March. I hope you will travel with me on this journey. I took some before pics which are humiliating for sure but quite eye opening for me.

And not to forget:

I have a torn hamstring and my extra weight is wreaking havoc on my hip. So I am taking this quite seriously.
Breakfast this morning consisted of a protein shake with greens, avocado, kale and probiotics yogurt with a splash of pineapple juice. That kept me quite satisfied until lunch when I had my second serving of mixed greens with avocado, olives and balsamic vinegar.

Dinner was equally exciting and took five minutes to prepare. Portobello pizzas and greens with a glass of wine was the end result. Here are the ingredients I used:

I covered both sides of two portobello mushroom caps with olive oil and browned them on both sides. Then I added pesto, prosciutto and buffalo cheese, covered the saucepan and heated on medium till the cheese began to melt. It literally took five minutes. I added my greens and this was the result and I'm telling you....it was delicious!

I wish you good health for the future! The meal looks good too :).

Thank you so much @snrm! I will follow you and I appreciate your comments!

Good Luck!!! I know you can do it! :)

Thanks for the encouragement @silveready1

Great @dianelyndon! We'll all be able to follow your progression as you transform your body and we'll see what fueling with fat, low lectins, high polyphenols and less glucose does. It's an interesting experiment.

That it is @rebeccaryan but more than that it's time to restore my health, my balance, my muscle tone and my zest for life. This is the 3rd chapter and it needs to be a good one. I've been hard on this body and so was the bus that hit me and the head on car crash. Thank you for your up vote!
