Oishi Sushi & Japanese Steak House Review in St. Petersburg, Florida
I'm back! Finally, after a very longgg trip back home, my husband and I are back to our normal routine. I'll be posting about our trip soon. There's A LOT of content, but we'll gladly work hard to show you guys! :)
Since there was nothing in the fridge yesterday (Sunday) we went out searching for something yummy to eat and found a restaurant called Oishi (Oishi means delicious in Japanese) not too far from our house. It used to be an IHOP before and now I was surprised to see they made it into a Japanese Steakhouse.
The parking lot is really big, so you shouldn't have any issues with that and when you step up to the front door you'll be delighted to see a koi pond on your left with so many pretty koi fish.
When we got inside I noticed they kinda kept IHOP's layout in the waiting area as well as where the cashier was at, but of course with nicer furnishings. As the waitress took us to our seat I noticed the awesome wall art they had and the decor was so pretty.
The waitress was so sweet and helpful. She told us that the owner was Vietnamese when we asked where he was from because many Japanese restaurants are not really Japanese owned, but they had done such a good job that we had to ask. We weren't surprised the owner was Vietnamese though since that area has many Vietnamese restaurants.
They also have a sushi menu, but I couldn't fit it in the gif :/ NOTE: The menu on their website has different prices (only for the sushi I believe) than when we went on 10/01/17 (when we went it was a bit cheaper, so find out with them)
The food was really yummy and very nicely presented. Although we didn't have enough space in our bellies for it we noticed they have a "Love Boat for 2" on their menu, which we love! We have tried that at another Japanese restaurant (in Raliegh, North Carolina) and we thought it was soo pretty and delicious. We will definitely be back for more!
Miso soup (I hate miso soup, but this one was amazing) and salad that came with my hubby's food. The wine was on the house :)
Noodles with shrimp (also came with hubby's food) and for appetizer some yummy Crab Rangoon-$5.95 USD
Hibachi Filet Mignon- $28.00 USD (includes what I mentioned above)
Tampa roll- $6.95 USD and Volcano roll $13.95 USD
