Hello dear Steemers!
Today I want to write about the avocado. The avocado is a typical fruit of Brazil. Here we use the avocado very often. It is widely used in the beauty industry for its moisturizing effect on hair and skin.

And of course we eat it. The Avocado is rich in good fat monounsaturated type like omega 3, fiber, antioxidants, magnesium and folic acid. The Indigenous rely heavily on the healing power of the seed of the avocado. The seed has a high amount of antioxidants that help to:

  • reduce cholesterol
  • neutralize disease
  • prevent cardiovascular disease and stroke
  • decrease high blood pressure
  • are good for digestion
  • prevent tumors
  • are great for brain health

You see the avocado is a very healthy food. To make use of the avocado seed, it is best you use a cheese grater to grate it. You can mix it in smoothies or decorate them with. I personally use the grated seed in a lot of dishes too. But for later use, you have to dry it and store it in a dry place.
And now I will show you how to make a “Vitamina de abacate” or in English “Avocado Smoothie”. This is a very delicious smoothie to begin your day with.

Avocado Smoothie / Vitamina de abacate

Ingredients:

(This recipe serves 2 small cups or 1 big cup)

  • 1 small avocado
  • 400ml milk
  • A few drops of lemon juice (to taste)
  • Sugar or honey to sweeten (to taste) - no need if the avocado is sweet

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Here some pictures of the result:

Wow amazing post!! Thank you very much for you following me, I am Following you now @brazilianfood, and maybe I would try this recipe with coconut milk or almond milk since I am vegan, but I loved the recipe and the photos! Everything was so interesting to read! :D Thank you for sharing this with everybody here on steemit! :3

I know how to make a delicious nutritious recipe of an avocado sauce for tacos, salads, or like a soup! I will be sharing the recipe soon!! I hope you like it when I post it!

Thank you very much Innita! I am really happy you liked it so much :-) I am sure, coconut milk or almond milk will work too. I can not wait to see your recipe! You made me really curious! I love mexican food a lot!

Love avocado smoothies! I usually add frozen bananas and fresh kiwi. And use water instead of milk. But they are all good!
Also tried to eat the seed, but it is soooo bitter! The healthiest part though.

Mhhh that sound good !- I will try that out. Normally I use frozen bananas to make some ice cream. Yes the seed is very bitter, that is also a reason why I grate and dry it.

You grate raw seed? Dried is less bitter? I would love to use it, but after trying it gave up. I couldn't eat it...

I make frozen banana ice creams too :) Frozen mango and pineapple is yummy too.

Yes I dry it and it is less bitter. I know what you mean, first I tried it fresh too :-)
Mango is my favorite! Or mango smoothie too.

Where do you use it after it's dry?
Mango smoothie.. mmmmhmmm :D

In other smoothis for example banana/apple smoothie. Or just in some dishes. You can also mix it with salad.

Okay, thanks! :)

The seed should be blended too its the most nutritious!

Is there a difference between grating and blending? I always grate it and mix it under my smoothis or in my food. But thanks for the tip!

Looks delicious!

Thank you Felix

It looks really tasty. Now I wanna try it :))

Thank you. I want it too, but my avocados are still too hard, so I have to wait another 2-3 days :-)

At least you have avocados. I have none. Maybe I'll buy some :D

You should :-) . You will not regret it ;-)

I eat an avocado a day either in my smoothie or just plain this looks great!

Thank you! I make this smoothie a lot or eat avocado also in guacamole wich is alos very delicious.

I just had one of these bad boys with my rice, beans and chicken.. when I get more I'm going to try this! Thank you.
