Family Tradition
I am a forth generation American, and my family was all farmers in the same county. So they kept a lot traditions alive for a while, one of the main things in every culture, the food. My family came from Germany and Russia, but were a mix of cultures. We are huge dough and potato eaters, and one of my favorite dishes is Cheese Buttons. I am definitely not traditional, as we eat German food, once a month, and chipotle once a week. I am teaching my wife to cook it, and today my mother came over to help.
First you start with a egg dough and then roll it out pretty thin.
Then you get cottage cheese and fill the center of them, and knit them into a triangle.
Then boil them for 7 min, and you can fry them with butter. I like to fry mine, and add salt.
Thank you for posting @bigram13.
Looks lovely.....and sounds delicious.
Appreciate hearing your family traditions.
Happy New Year…toasting. Cheers!
Looks great, and always good to carry on traditions. I come from German descent as well, but only get to enjoy the German food when we get together for big holidays, which isn’t often enough for me. It’s great that you are taking the initiative and getting these foods in your family’s traditions!
Ya, my family made a whole cook book of them, and everyone pitched in and added one of their own recopies. Can't find them on the internet....
Comfort food for my soul thanks for sharing . i just wanted to ask you if you made the dough your self or you can just buy it already made.
No made it ourselves, it is a simple egg dough. A lot of people use it to make their own noodles. They are also very tasty.
I will look up the recipe for the dough, then I will try to do it my self. I will let you know if I succeed :)
Nice Sharing Bigram13.!
For as long as i remember, on the 7th of April my family goes over to my cousins house to eat chinese food and watch Jackie Chan movies to celebrate Jackie's birthday. It has been going for before my little cousins (who are now 14 and 12) were born. They love it as well. Made a bunch of signs and stuff this year.
Is good for one to know is traditions.potato is a nice food. Happy new year.
Sangat indah
Traditional food is always in the future, what else can we make ourselves, it is a specialty, it seems that when it is cooked I can taste it. Lol 😁
My folks also made a few traditions for us, and we are still a very young family.
Enjoy your holidays.
That is what the world today is missing, everyone is so busy they just muddle through life.
Happy new Year too.
That's really cool!
Sieht echt sehr lecker aus! :D
