LOVE YOU

in #food8 years ago

This morning I and Hubby greeted each other with the usual “Love You”, “Love You” and Bye. It then directed my thoughts towards the word LOVE and what it really means.
Since the day we are born we use love and twist it according to our selfish needs. The love we as humans experience always have a “because” connection. As a child you love your parents because they care and provide for you. In school you love your friends because they amuse you and share games and activities, you love your Teachers because they introduce and guide you into the real world. As Teenager you love your first Sweetheart because it is exciting, they make you feel good and you obtain a step into adulthood. We choose our life partners via good feelings, connections and shared activities. We then love them because they provide and support us. We love our children because they are gifts from God.
YET –
The children we were sometimes steer away from our parents because we do not agree with them, or approve what they do and how they react. They then ended up all alone in retirement villages dying without support or loving care. As life progresses we discard our school friends because they do not fit into the new circles in our life. We look down on those who are struggling and leave them behind as memories of the past. We forget those who teach and guided us because we do not need them anymore. Your first sweetheart is dumped into a dustbin because he or she didn’t live up to your expectations. We divorce our life partners because of differences, disappointments and hurt. We drive our children away because they do not live and react as we want them to. Is this Love?
God is Love!
He loved us when we were small, stupid and naughty. He loved us in school when we tried out all the things we were told not to do. He loved us as Teenagers whether we got mixed up with drugs, stealing, sex and any other sin we read about. He loved us when we discarded the Life partners we chose and promised in front of Him – till death do us part. He even in some cases blesses us again with another partner and happiness. This is LOVE; it is not because of, but in spite of.
The only love that comes near this is the love our pets have for us. I believe God gives them to us so that we can see what real love means.

Maybe we must not use the word LOVE anymore. Declare it as a holy word. Let us say we have Feelings for each other because that is a better description of our actions.

It is the beginning of the week and we wonder what we are going to dish up. I am sharing an easy recipe which can be used in a lot of ways.

COCKROACHES –
Mix equal parts Borax and Icing Sugar, it will kill them. Also place Banana Peels where they are crawling around. They hate the gasses it releases.

BOILING EGGS –
Spread Butter around the inside of the pot before cooking. It will prevent the water to boil over the pot. Add a lot of Salt and a little bit of Vinegar to the water before cooking. It makes it easier to crack and clean the eggs. Pour ice cold Water on the Eggs immediately after cooking, it prevents a blue colouring on the Eggs.

DRAGON HERB –
Gives a nice aroma to Vinegar, Use with Salads, Chicken dishes and Butter sauce.

EGG BREAD –
2 Eggs per person, 1 Cup of Milk, Salt & Pepper, Cooking Oil, ½ teaspoon of Baking Powder, 1 teaspoon Mixed Herbs
Mix all together. Heat oil in an egg pan until hot. Dip slices of bread one by one into mixture. Let excess mixture drip off. Fry in oil until golden brown on both sides. Serve hot. Also try this - Fill up 2 slices of bread with a filling of your choice. Toast in a close up toaster.

Economical, Children love it, Ideal for lunchboxes; serve as a light Lunch, Filling Breakfast, Teenagers treat, Easy and quick to make.

Share your feelings with others and remember – ANYBODY CAN COOK!
