How to: Make your own protein bars
Hello my Steemit friends! In this blog I decided to write about ''How to make your own proteins bars'', because I've seen a lot of wrong recipes. Furthermore, buying constantly bars from all these big protein companies it's not so good for your health.
SO, HERE WE GO!
What will we need:
- 450g tahini
- 200g honey
- 200g black chocolate
- 150g nuts (eg. almonds)
- 150g cereals
- 200g oats
- 80g cranberries
Heat the honey in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Mix the tahini with the honey in a large bowl. Be careful not to mix it too much to keep the mixture tight.
Melt the chocolate in a bowl with a membrane on top, in microwaves at 800 watts for 2 minutes or in a marinade.
Mix the chocolate in the tahini-honey mixture.
Finally, add oats, nuts and cranberries and mix well with a marjoram. Pour the cereals and continue stirring manually.
Put a large membrane over a 20x30 cm baking pan. Spread the mixture over, add a few more cereals over, cover with the membrane and leave it in the fridge for 3-4 hours.
To serve, cut into 20 equal bars of 5 cm thick.
NOTE!!!!
For some extra protein you can add some good quality protein powder (it's better if it's unflavoured) or BCAAs.
Just be sure you don't add too much, so the mixture will not bind. If this happens, try to put some extra honey.
These bars will fulfill you with energy and protein. It's better to eat this nice snack in the morning or half an hour before working out because of the high fat rate. Although, you don't need to worry, these fats are all good and healthy for you.
If you are on a bulking period this snack is perfect for you!
