Quesillo: Recipe
Hey guys, today I want to share with you one of the most popular Venezuelan desserts Quesillo, it's a dessert made from condensed milk and can also be made from pumpkin, coconut to chocolate. It is called quesillo because of its porosity, which resembles cheese dimples.
Hope you like it!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla
To make the caramel:
- 5 tbsp sugar
Recipe:
First melt the sugar in the mold that we are going to use to make the quesillo, heating it until it has a dark golden color.
In a blender beat the eggs until they are well integrated, then add the condensed milk, milk powder and vanilla, beat for about 2 minutes. Pour the mixture into the mold, cover and cook in a bain-marie for 45 minutes at 190ºC. To check that the quesillo is ready you can insert a toothpick into the mixture, if it comes out dry it's ready. Let stand for a few hours and then unmold on a plate taking care and that the caramel is on top.
