Deep Fried Oyster Ice Cream
This mickey mouse looking dessert is ice cream with deep fried breaded oysters. This was only 300 yen which is less than 3 USD. I bought this in Okayama, Japan at a fish market called Gomi No Shi. In English it means City of 5 flavors.
While the ice cream was sweet, soft, and silky, the salty oyster sauce complimented it very well. When I bit into the oysters, they were warm, crunchy, and juicy. All of these flavors combined, you can enjoy many tastes all in one.
The taste reminded me of a salted caramel dessert, but this ice cream was quite unique due to the oyster flavor. Many people are turned off by this strange combination, but I suggest to give it a try!
