Sago or typical Indonesian grapefruit

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Picture of my post above is an example of sago fruit or also called the tree of rumbia, a tree that grows a lot in puddles and swamps, in the village community usually daunya used as the roof of the house.

The fruit of rumbia is widely available in Indonesia, because it is a sago palm trees. So the fruit of rumbia is the fruit produced from the sago tree. But sepeknya not comparable with raw salak fruit.

There is a lot of rumbia fruit in Indonesia, according to I read from several sources of this tree is growing throughout the archipelago, Java island, Sumatra island, Malaysia, and not least in the philippines there is also this tree, most likely brought by human civilization. Now rumbia grows wild in various places.

The fruit of this sago tree is large and its scales bitter, but when it is old processed into delicious food (pickle). My observation, rumbia produces fruit only once in its growth. Thank you and apologize for the lack of this story and writing.
