ginamos- a common filipino food
Good day steemit, i would like to share to you a food called ginamos. Here in Philippines , ginamos is a common food and appetizer for filipinos, specially poor people here. Though it is mainly plain but it is really a great appetizer that will boost your appetite. Ginamos is usually made from small fishes by putting salt directly into the fish for it to last for a long period of time. Small fishes are used for making ginamos instead of big fishes because small fishes are easy to prepare. Sea shells can also be used for making ginamos.
HOW TO MAKE GINAMOS ?
1.Clean the fish.
2.After cleaning the fish, put it in a container with enough space.
3.Put salt into the fish directly, for every 1 kilo of fish put 4 kilos of salt or you can put 3 kilos of salt if you dont want it to be too salty.
4.Close the container and leave the salted fish for a few days. If you notice that the fish has formed a gray pasty substance then your ginamos is now ready.
Ginamos is usually best served with vinegar , lemon and chili.
