Fruits in general are very healthy but avocado is not only delicious, but it is one fruit that we should take advantage of because of its health benefits.

 Avocados are rich pantothenic acid, dietary fiber, folate, vitamin b6, vitamin E and vitamin C. The components of avocados support; healthy blood flow, lower blood pressure, lower bad cholesterol, reduces risk of cancer and most of all support a healthier brain.

Today i'll be focusing on the various ways you could enjoy eating your avocados:

The Famous Guacamole

Guacamole is a simple way to enjoy your avocados, all you would need to prepare this would be: ripe avocados, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, finely chopped garlic, cilantro, lime squeeze, salt and pepper. 

In a medium sized bowl, peel and mash the avocados, and mix in the the other ingredients; the garlic, onion, tomato, cilantro, lime, salt and pepper, then set aside or chill for an hour.

Guacamole is best served with: toast, sandwiches,chips(as a dip), salad dressing, vegetable patties and or smoked salmon etc

Avocado Smoothie

This will be on of the best smoothies you would have tasted, its quite spectacular and it is perfect during the summer! Preparation could take up to 5 minutes. Here is the recipe, and all you need is a blender.

You will be needing :

1 avocado

1 cup of milk

1/2 cup of yougurt

1/8 cup of syrup

8 cubes of ice

Very simple: "just put the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth".

Avocado Shrimp Salad

This recipe is one of the most delicious avocado recipes! This salad is very easy to prepare and i'm very sure you'd enjoy every bit of it.

For the ingredients you'll be needing:

2 avocados cut in cubes

1 pound cooked salad shrimp(seasoned)

1/2 cup diced crunchy romaine lettuce

1 jalapeño finely diced 

2 diced tomatoes

1 chopped onion

2 tbsp of lime  juice


Salt and pepper to taste(a pinch will be fine)

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients, the avocado, shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, lime juice salt and pepper. Serve immediately, to taste all the wonderful flavors.

That avocado pic is nice. Wish I could find avocados that look like that. Seem I always get one that are to far gone and over ripen fast cause I just done eat them fast enough. I'm gonna try to better with that. I live in Florida and I have only seen Haas and Florida avocados. Haas are smaller but are they both equally good for you? Are there any other kinds?

Thanks for the recipes! Read a recent article on the "fountain of youth" study done by Harvard research on mice. Mice with big amounts of NAD in blood stream whether two months old or two years olds, they could not distinguish the tissues between the two different age groups. advocados is mentioned as a potential precursor source of NAD that could be eaten.

Great share @food-trail one of my favorite ingredients in salads, dips and dressings. I love cutting up an Avocado and drizzling it with XVOO , kosher salt and pepper for a between meal snack. I could eat them everyday! - Chef Mickey
