Portulaca grandiflora Flower at 9 o'clock Sweet and Sweet
This flower plant is called by various names. Portulaka, Krokot, Flower Nine o'clock, Sweet Beauty, Bombay Sutera, up to the latin name of this plant, Portulaca grandiflora. The name portulaka and purslane refer to the name of this genus of interest, namely Portulaca. In Indonesia, various types of Portulaca are referred to as purslane. The name 'flower at nine' was attached because of this flower habits that began to bloom at around nine o'clock in the morning.
As in Indonesian, in English too, this type of purslane has a name. The names include rose moss, eleven o'clock, mexican rose, rose mose, sun rose, rock rose, to moss-rose purslane.
The Latin name of this flower is Portulaca grandiflora Hook with several synonym names such as Portulaca hilaireana G. Don, Portulaca immersostellulata Poelln., Portulaca mendocinensis Gillies ex Hook., Portulaca multistaminata Poelln., And Portulaca pilosa subsp. grandiflora (Hook.) R.Geesink. The flower is closely related to the Flower of the Ordinary Bracelet (Portulaca oleracea L.).
Portulaka or Flower Nine is a South American plant (Argentina, Brazil, and Urugay) which then spread to various places in the world including Indonesia.
