Kurinji the flower which blooms only once in every twelve years
Kurinji is the name of a flower which is blue in color and which turns the entire mountain in to blue.What makes it unique is that it blooms only once in every twelve years.It is found in the mountain forests of western ghats in south india.
It is found in the Annamalai hills,Nilgiri hills.Its not found anywhere in the world.
It has been termed as endangered flower of india and preservative steps has been taken by the government.
Its really a wonder of the mother nature.
Wow that is an image like no other, and it sounds like it's really like no other, if this is the only place in the world for this plant. I would like to go for a long walk here, I am guessing it's a bit of a hike to get there in the first place, judging by the mountains in the background. Best to make the most of it if you take the time to get there!
