Hibiscus is a evergreen plant. Normally its height is around 2.5-5m and 1.5-3m wide. Its leaves are very bright and flowers are vibrant red with five petals. Flower has a diameter of 4 inch and it blooms in autumn and summer.

It's a plant of tropical climate as it cannot survive below 10°C. There are several varieties of Hibiscus. The flower is also available in orange, yellow, white other than red colour and some are by colour. The flower has no smell.

The meaning of scientific name of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is "roses of China" though it has no relation with Roses. This plant is known as 'zhū jǐn 朱槿' in China. The plant is widely available in many parts of India.
