Hurricane Milton caused widespread devastation after hitting the coast of Siesta, a city in the U.S. state of Florida, on Thursday morning. Various accidents have led to the deaths of 10 people. The hurricane has brought 16 inches of rain to St. Petersburg, Florida, in the past 24 hours, which is equivalent to three months' worth of rain in just three hours. Milton is the third hurricane to hit Florida this year.

Winds of 193 kilometers per hour blew due to the hurricane, causing power outages in nearly 1 million homes in Sarasota, Manatee, and Pinellas counties in Florida. Around 2 million people are facing a serious flood threat.

The weather department has issued an emergency alert, following which the administration has declared a state of emergency in several cities. People affected by the tornado have been moved to safer locations. Besides Milton, Hurricane Leslie, forming in the Atlantic Ocean, is also becoming dangerous, although it is less likely to reach the U.S.
