迎着新年的晨曦，天安门广场升国旗仪式隆重举行。这是经党中央批准，自2018年1月1日起由人民解放军担负国旗护卫和礼炮鸣放任务后，解放军仪仗队和军乐团首次执行的升国旗仪式。

7时32分，升旗号角划破长空，升旗仪式正式开始。7时34分，编队抵达国旗杆基座，升旗组3人齐步走上基座准备升旗，护旗队员面向国旗列队。7时36分，解放军军乐团奏响《义勇军进行曲》，鲜艳的五星红旗冉冉升起。国旗升至杆顶，在现场的9万多名各族各界群众爆发出如潮的掌声、欢呼声。

Greeting the dawn of the new year, the flag-raising ceremony of Tiananmen Square was held ceremoniously. This is the first ceremony of raising the flag held by the PLA honor guard and the military orchestra after the approval of the CPC Central Committee and the carrying on of flag escort and salute by the People's Liberation Army from January 1, 2018.

At 0732 hours, the raising horn crossed the sky and the flag-raising ceremony officially started. At 7:34, the formation arrived at the base of the flagpole. Three people in the flag group walked onto the base to raise their flags. The flag members lined up for the national flag. At 7:36, the People's Liberation Army Military Orchestra played the "March of the Volunteer Army" with its bright five-star red flag rising. The national flag rose to the top of the pole. At the scene, more than 90,000 people from all walks of life at home and abroad raged loud applause and cheers.
