Top 3 Cardio Workouts You Can Do at Home

You will agree with me when I say that getting fit is not easy for everyone.

I mean, I had my own journey of going back and forth between looking good and looking... well, not so good.

While searching for the way to achieve my own goals, I even became a fitness instructor. Don't worry, you won't have to go that far.

But, there is one thing that you will have to do - a cardio workout.

In order to lose fat, you will need to raise your heart rate to a certain level, and cardio is the best and easiest way to do it.

So, here are three cardio workouts you can do at home.

Skip rope


This is a great exercise which many of us use to love while we were kids.

To do this exercise properly try to keep your arms close to the body, and initiate the movement from the wrists. Also, don't jump off to high, an inch or two is just fine. Core muscles should be engaged and your breathing should have a uniform pace.

Do this exercise for 1-2 minutes and then march in place for 30-45 seconds. Repeat for 20-30 minutes.

Jogging in place


Another option that you can do at home. Plain jogging in place seems like a boring thing to do, so you might consider following variations:

  • adding arms - if you add some arm movements, you will increase the heart rate and decrease the level of boredom
  • changing the level of impact - if you lift your knees or heels higher and then return to low impact jogging, you will avoid the monotony
  • adding some space - jogging back and forth will make the routine more fun.
    Jog in place for 30-45 minutes.

Adding jumping jacks


As you progress you might add jumping jacks to your workout. Keep in mind that jacks are a high-impact exercise that is not suitable for beginners.

However, you can start gradually, by including a few jacks after every round of skipping rope, or in every minute or two while jogging in place.

Since they are so intensive, jumping jacks will raise your heart rate into a fat burning zone quickly.

See, you don't have to go to the gym to do your cardio routine daily.
