Beside that, you can double check links with just hovering and see if something appear different or just go online to check that link but not in the address bar.

Go on virustotal.com or other websites (there are some that check links if they are bad or good) and check them there.

Even if are simple accounts like social... nobody will want to lose their rights. So, better check what you click and watch out of emotional clicking (i think is the best term that i can describe to that).
