SLC 21/W1: Empowering Life- Saving Skills; A guide to first response and basic first aid
Hello friends, I welcome you all to my article in the SLC S21/W1 I would be putting in efforts to be very effective in making this article worthwhile.
It was about 12 years ago, my friends and I had a beautiful evening and we decided to go o a hotel to party. We all got a bit tipsy and decided to head towards the swimming pool. I decided to chill a bit but the all persuaded me so much. We all got into the pool on getting ready to swim.
Importantly, Bryan dived in so hard that he hit his jaw against the floor of the pool feeling it was too deep! He has a broken jaw and in the attempt to yell got choked by the water, was it disastrous? he was loosing it and I noticed him about 20 minutes later when I saw blood in his direction, he was not responsive. I yelled at everyone for help, he was brought out but was almost gone little pulse. I ran to the hotel authorities for help and that was it. Unfortunately he couldn't make it.
Things I would have done
I would have conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR on him. He suffered a lot from the fall in the pool
I should have tried stopping the profuse bleeding and bring him towards a well ventilated area.
I should have have spotted his discomfort in the pool to see his movement before that long time of passing out.
I should have discouraged swimming while drunk as his limbs could barely carry him. These are approaches I should have put in place.
I would look carefully around to ensure the environment is safe, to move casualty, look to spot traffic, clearing the way of dangerous objects. My safety too is important too to save the person in danger.
I would strike communication with the motorcyclist to make him feel safe, checking for signs of consciousness and locomotive movement of body parts including limbs.
I would be this to know level of consciousness and how safe the casualty is trying to be professional enough to doing what I do.
I would immediately check his pulse if he has a weak pulse, I would conduct CPR to keep his CVS alive again.
I would search for bleeding while sourcing to control the bleeding by applying pressure if I can to reduce bleeding while aiding him.
Calling the emergency team would be the next approach, giving him little first response activities too. This would be my first response to saving his life.
