Trump Violates First Amendment Rights of Protesters

The Right Rev. Mariann Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington DC, blasted Trump on Monday night after he had peaceful protesters teargassed so that he could use St. John’s Episcopal Church to stage a photo-op.

To be clear, these were NOT rioters.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
