Drove to Tampere Today + Go Club at Konttori

in #finland6 years ago

I finished the yard work my wife asked me to do, changed tires on her car, took a shower, and took off for Tampere. I stopped at Tuulos, a former municipality about halfway between Lahti and Tampere to see the medieval stone church which I had never seen before.

The main door. The church was more modest than I expected. It was probably built between 1510 and 1540. That time period is considered to mark the end of the middle ages in FInland.

It was a nice tour friend. Are the photos of today Sunday? ... I could not leave, hopefully next weekend I can leave for my daughter to be distracted as she likes, maybe to a park. It happens that it is very difficult to leave where I am, in fact in the whole country because of the transport problem, and it is very dangerous. About two months ago two guys docked on a bus where I went with my daughter and now I almost do not take her out.

Yes, these were taken today.

The church is very beautiful. I think that in this continent there is nothing so old like that. Although in fact on the island where I live there is a castle called "Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo" built in 1623 and not yet 500 years old.

What is the aim of go? Do you have to get so many squares covered in your discs. Watched gamer's game the other night and still have no idea. Maybe it's the way gamer plays lol.

The aim is to surround more territory and capture more stones (put together) than your opponent. The players take turns placing one stone at a time on vacant line intersections on the board. Stones or chains of stones having no adjacent empty line intersections (points) are removed from board and counted as prisoners each stone being worth one point. In the end, all stones having no hope of avoiding capture (the game is played until the fate of each stone is clear to both players) are removed and the sizes of all territories are counted. Whichever player has more points than the other is the winner.

Ok. Thank you. Sounds like fun. I suppose the moves become clearer the more you drink.

Interesting that this old building are still existing until now and well maintained . You rarely see old buildings in my country now

Hello Friend. Excellent pictures. I really liked the photo of the church, but much more that of the sunset at 10 o'clock at night. At that time here in Venezuela is very dark, to take a picture like that.

I know you just moved and maybe that's why you didn't visit it before, but that reminds me that in fact steem makes me do things I wouldn't normally do, like to visit a 15th century church, nice sunset but damn 10pm is late for us, well do you won or what?

We have driven past Tuulos tens of times in the past five years or so but haven't taken the trouble to see it. There is nothing else to see there.

I lost that game.

That's a worthy day spent. You had various activities clubbed together in single day.

Woah 10pm Sunset! That's almost Sunset at night!
