You did an excellent job of transforming it. You lead the reader well to the point where there is no hope that Vartan will ever become normal again. But then the bad changes into something good.

A really interesting dynamic that I approve of and that points out a bit about how we can all influence the way things work in a system. That people will come to Vartan from now on instead of hiding him as crazy, bewitched, lost and insane: the best of all solutions.
