Derek was betrayed by Terry, who is the brother of Lou, a junkie that stole money from Derek. Derek's money is the money that Terry's Uncle Jon has hidden. Terry knows that 'nobody crosses' a Bryant, that is, nobody crosses Derek and lives. So Terry has to take him out before he kills his sister, Lou.

although Derek was betrayed by Terry, Lou did steal from Derek when she got him locked up, and it is Derek's money Terry's Uncle Jon has hidden but very good to know how the rest of it comes off @dirge - thank you, i do very much appreciate the comment, I can see just the few words that would have carried what i meant better :)
