RE: When The Tundra Calls (Finish The Story #58 Entry)
Wow Calluna! You said that you didn't have the heart for something adventurous or scary but instead I've been dragged in and tasted every single word of what I see as an awesome beginning of a novel. You can't always go all the way in 500 words and, sometimes, perhaphs you shouldn't. I enjoyed it and found it soaking with suspence and many untold mysteries. I also loved those many touches of elegance like "the fallen scraps of soaring dreams" or "those dark eyes held steady with a resolve that had hoped to never be tested". This made me enthusiast and willing to elaborate the concept, keeping the mood that you created.
You had me dreaming this. I woke up the day after posting it trying to remember what TV series I was hooking on, only to be let down by the realisation that it was just in my head. But that one word, tasted, has meant so much to me, that makes me very much feel like I managed to pull you into that. I had a line or two in there that had given the concept harder edges, but in the end they didn't feel right with the rest of it. Yey! Thank you!
I think this is one of your best entries. Yes, this was food for my inspiration.
