The MYTH called Money!
That money in your hands is fake! Yea fake and I will show you how true this is. What is real money is...how can money be made here on steemit or anywhere in the world!
Shocking but true is the fact that most people don’t know really what money is…What is money, think deeply do you really know it? HOW can you find what you don't know? If you don't know what you are looking for, you will not know when you find it or if you found it already. Money is really not your steem dollars, your bank account figure neither credit, nor the papers in your pockets.
If steem dollars is money...then what were you spending before steem dollars came...If paper currency is money, what of when we do transactions with chipped plastics called ATM? If credit card is money then why are you working, are you trying to get more credit cards?

To understand money let’s look at a summarize evolution of money.
The Cavemen Era
Everyone was on the same level. The land was useless to them because they were yet to discover its potential. These guys went around looking for fruits to gather and animals to hunt. If you had given ten million dollars to a man then, he would probably have used it to fuel his fire because that was useless. At this level, almost everyone was primarily a hunter who hunted to feed himself and his family just to survive from day to day.
What was money: ENERGY AND SKILL TO HUNT were their own money.
The Agrarian Age
Some things are discovered over time, as man evolved, they discovered that the land had value and could be used for planting. Farming was born. Have you read the book Robison cursoe…? What do you think happened to those who didn’t want to move on and remained has gatherer, when some people had started planting and could calculate and control things and use lesser energy? They overtime become obsolete and occupy the lower rung of the society.
Realising the importance of the land and the fact that affluence was tied to the size of plantation owned, many things were birthed. At this age, the class system was born, people started claiming ownership of lands as settlers and indigenes. If you observe, you will realise that in most nations of the world, the government own the land and people can only own land with government approvals. With this there was need for more workers on the bigger plantations because the bigger your farm the more money you have. Have you realise that at this point there was nothing like bank accounts not financial currencies… Since the size of plantation determined affluence, it meant that more hands were needed on the farm. This led to slave trading. What was money here… size of plantation and number of workers. This birthed the trade by barter system.
TRADE-BY-BARTER
Trade-by-Barter is an economic process which involves an exchange i.e. using what you have to get what you want. In this era, something had to be brought to the market place physically to get something out. If you had banana and needed tables, you must look for someone who had tables and wanted bananas. It was a cumbersome process. You needed to negotiate based on quantity and materials
At this level, money was whatever you had to exchange for what you needed based on your 'Energy and Skill'. Actually it same now just that there is a value measurement system has an intermediary. Barter had loads of limitations and birthed the next.
The Industrial Age:
Other discoveries were made about land, which revealed many priceless mineral resources underneath the land like crude oil, coal, gold etc. These discoveries sparked up a revolution that dwarfed the every preceeding age. This age had multiple, chain reactions; machines were made, science evoved and due to the need to get people trained to handle the machines, and work in the factories, the School System was introduced. Some slaves from plantations were trained to handle machines. This became necessary because some plantation-owners too were evolving and becoming industrialists. As people were being moved from Farming to Industrial activities, jobs and salaries were now introduced. People went to school to learn a skill that could be offered.
Also, Trade-by-Barter could no longer remain the only means of economic transaction because of change and emergence of new ideas. A decision was made to accept other things apart from farm produce as the instrument and means of exchange; hence, the use of cowry, copper coin, gold coin etc. as the “money” or currency of the day which long predated paper currencies.
The independence of various countries on continents claiming autonomy, and wanting to create their own transactional instruments birthed the paper currency. Since gold has been universally accepted as a good value retainer. National currencies were accepted as legal tenders and transaction instruments based on the value of gold in reserve.

Many European nations thought their currencies was their money until it was cancelled and there was Euro currency was introduce. Do you still think paper currency is money? I doubt so at this stage as we draw close to defining true money. If paper currency is money, where did all the money go during the global meltdown or recession? Were the currencies burnt or stolen or did they rapture?
What was money here; time and skill.
Information Age
The Industrial Age is no doubt dead even though many are still living in that era and wallowing in poverty. The world has become a global village and the internet is the village square and steemit the general market. We are now in the Technology /Information Age and things have changed. Brain power has replaced muscle power. Smart work has replaced hard work and ideas now rule the world. Money has again evolved and paper currency is gradually expiring all over the globe and giving way to electronic money via cards the new one crypto currency and blockchains.
WHAT IS MONEY?
It is right to ask what exactly is money in our age, brain power, information, skills, value in short is money now! Capacity to solve real or perceived problem is money.
[Source]www.google.com
Money is the real value or perceived value you bring to the market, has what you have to offer, it then can be measured, quantified and evaluated in physical or digital currencies. Whatever you have that you use to exchange for what you need is money and not necessarily paper currency or cards. Remember Energy, Skills and Trade by Barter, time, special gifts, rare abilities, are all money. The denominator is that you must be able to solve a real or percieved problem with what you are offering. Money is a reward for solving problem.
Solve small problem = Small Money
Solve major problem = Major Money
Solve national problem = National Money
Solve global problem = Global Money
Nobody is paid for discovering or identifying problems except they solve them. The ability to identify problem is not complete if you cannot solve it. Many people in today's world are good at seeing, identifying, noticing and complaining about problems but still remain poor because that does not attract money except they become a problem solver and a solution provider. The multimillion dollar question I have for you is when you steem, what problems are you solving, what value are you bringing; that will make someone better? Is it all about the upvoting? Steem dollars? Steem power? No! It doesn’t work that way, it's not about the money…the real money is the value available that you offer on the platform. However you can't give what you don't have.
