The Babysitter (film) - delightfully stupid
All you have to do is read the description to realize that this movie doesn't take itself seriously and neither should we.

When you see a movie explanation like that... you kinda have to watch it.
So the film's description kind of says it all. Cole is a socially awkward 12-year old who gets picked on at school and has a really attractive babysitter that for some reason he has a pretty close friendly relationship with. They don't go into too much detail but it is obvious that they have known one-another for quite some time.

If anyone were to watch this movie and not know anything about the plethora of teenage horror slasher films in the 80's and early 90's, this movie might seem pretty dumb because the scenario and the setting in which it takes place in, is completely impractical and it features parts of horror films in the past that simply don't make sense such as easily overpowering police officers who arrive in a very small group despite the fact that they are responding to a frantic call made by a minor in regards to a murder and the baddies inside the house make a tremendous amount of noise both in the house and around the neighborhood yet none of the neighbors even turn a porch light on.
consequently, I would like to point out that this was one sentence and unless someone wants to prove me wrong, it is grammatically correct.
Therefore, in order to enjoy this movie you have to understand that it is definitely not a serious film. It really isn't even scary despite the fact that it appears in the horror section.
But seriously: You gotta understand what you are getting yourself into in order to enjoy this. It probably helps if you don't mind a bit of gore too because the bloody parts of this movie are completely over the top as well. McG is a pretty great director and I'm certain he tried to make this film as cliche and absurd as possible. Since I am a fan of old horror films, I thought it was great. It brought back memories of old horror films that were presented as serious and seriously failed in that prospect.
This was such a fun film. I don’t think people realize how hard Horror Comedy is to pull of but this one does it. I don’t want to spoil much, but I love how the relationship between the kid and the babysitter is so genuine and despite what she is doing, she seems to genuinely care for him. I like those little character moments where she seems impressed and proud that he is overcoming his phobias rather than frustrated by him throwing a wrench in his plans. She says she’s done this ritual before, so maybe she sees the person she used to be in him. Loved it and thought it was really underrated.

lol, perfect! I think you are right. Not gonna correct it though... just for a confirmation...
Presently most horror films now does not measure up to what we used to watched in the 90s because the director of these day horror film does not acts their fils to be that fearful. And most horror film now are a bit more predictable in terms of their next move. You analysis o this film does not deserves it to be scored 7/10 rather it should by given 4/10
we all have our own opinions. I like it more than most people because in my mind it is an obvious piss-take of the horror films of years gone past.
