James Franco snubbed for an Oscar nomination?
The Oscar nominations were released earlier today, there was a few surprises and snubs. One of them not on the list was James Franco for Best Actor, was he snubbed?
Recently 5 women accused him of sexual misconduct, this came a day after he won s Golden Globe for Best Actor and a day before the Academy cast their final votes in. There was also rumors that women would protest if he won a SAG award for Best Actor, "how were they going to protest" you ask? They were going to stand up and turn around, giving their back to the stage.
Another of the speculations circling around is that straight up the Academy pulled any nomination for him as this is such a hot topic and they do not want the bad publicity. Question is, do you reward the artist for giving its best performance out of the year without thinking of the artist personal life? should we be more subjective?should we punish the artist for bad conduct and not recognize his achievements? Personally, I think we shouldn't reward the artist if they had a sexual allegation hanging around them, everyone has skeletons in their closets but when they are out in the air we shouldn't ignore them. What do you think?
