What's It About: In 1985, teenager Marty McFly, who lives his high school life with his nerdy, passive father and overweight mother, is accidentally sent back in time to 1955. There he inadvertently alters his future and must work to return things back to normal with the help of his friend Doc Brown.
The Good: Back to the Future is a fun-filled tale of humor and innocence that throws back to the spectacle of 1940s and 1950s comedy-drama films. The film features excellent scriptwriting, wherein everything said and shown becomes important later on, for example when Lorraine mentions she met her husband George after she hit him with her car. The film also exercises great balance, yoyo-ing smoothly between comedic scenes and serious ones, and successfully manages to balance romance, comedy, coming of age and science fiction all in one well-paced two-hour package. The humor is sharp and witty, always firing off at the perfect time, and punchlines are decisive and lasting.
The Bad: You may not like the 'superficial' feeling that many of the scenes have. This is a reference to the highly structured and choreographed style of filmmaking of the 40's and 50's, which featured sets that looked artificial, and acting that seems stilted and unrealistic. Characters say and do things in ways that normal people do not do, and this can be apparent when you're watching and feel like something seems off.
Best Performance: Christopher Lloyd as Doc Emmett Brown. Let's face it, Back to the Future doesn't have the strongest or most believable acting, but its the excessive over-the-top delivery that makes it so iconic and lovable, and nobody is more over the top than the Doc. Playing a mad scientist, his job is to engineer the film's crazy inventions that Marty either uses or destroys.
Should I Watch It: Back to the Future is about as 1980s as anything gets. Nearly all the 80's tropes that we know today are featured in one way or another in this film. The film is exceptionally well-produced and is a staple of all science fiction films.
Post-Credits Scene: No, but there is direct foreshadowing to the sequel at the end of the film in one of the best, most exciting ways possible.

I have them on my Netflix list ready for a marathon! I grew up in the 90's/early 2000 and the nostalgia of the 80's/90's movies I get when rewatching, it is pure bliss!
Back to the Future is always a classic and i love all 3, even if the 3rd was a little eh at times.

1985 gave us films like Back To The Future and the Goonies too.
I watched all that Back To The Future trilogy in the cinema as a kid.
