Shooting in ... Bratislava
At the end of last year, I went to Vienna for some days. Since Bratislava is so close (making them the two closest capitals in the world - from Austria and Slovakia respectively) I couldn't miss the opportunity to spend one day there.
So, after one hour train journey I arrived in Bratislava Hlavná stanica station, which is completely different from Wien Hauptbahnhof. The two stations reflect the huge differences between these two countries. Not only, economic, but also social and from the architectural point of view.
It was a really dark winter day (temperatures on high negatives) with some patches of snow around town, which in my opinion gave the city the perfect mood and environment for a day of shooting pictures.
As soon as I finished a colour roll of film (from the previous day) I loaded some Ilford HP5+, which was going to be pushed 2 stops, since it was quite dark and the days were short back in December.
I walked around from the train station down to the Old Town, then around the river, up to the castle and back to the station.
I definitely recommend any photographers to visit Bratislava and get into that Eastern European architecture and vibe. It's cheap and easy to walk around and see most of the city in one day.
