About Joker 2..

Back in August, I mentioned that IMAX approached me about possibly returning to v the 15/70 booth.

That would have been for Joker 2. Obviously, the gig didn't happen. They couldn't get enough theaters to sign on to show it on film.

It sucks in the sense that it would have been great money doing a job that I love, and barely ever get to do.

I suppose that it's good news that they at least tried to do it two years in a row.

Still, even if Joker 2 were getting Oppenheimer like reviews, I can't imagine people driving from another state to see Joker 2 the way they did for Oppenheimer and Dunkirk.

First of all, Joker 2 was mostly shot digitally. The first one was all digital. Granted, every narrative film that uses 15/70 will do it for sequences (although Dunkirk was well more than half IMAX footage).

The people who make these treks to see these movies shown in this specific way are usually people who do a little bit of research. These people are nerds.

Still, aside from the technical aspects, this is finally a moment where I think it's a sequel that we didn't need nor want, and a lot of people seem to agree.
