Fight of the nught
Anthony Joshua said he had no control over the referee’s decision to stop his fight with Carlos Takam in the 10th round.
The British boxer was well on top and unloading punches on his opponent when the ref stepped in.
Takam was furious with the decision, claiming he was fine to continue.
The 80,000 fans in Cardiff was clearly unhappy as well, with the decision widely booed inside the Principality Stadium.
Joshua told the fans he couldn’t do anything about the decision.
‘I have no interest in what’s going on with the official. That not my decision,’ he said after retaining his belts.
‘I was watching him, trying to break him down round by round. I think people want to see Takam unconscious on the floor. That’s what I was trying to get to.
‘I didn’t have control over the referee’s decision. We get the win and we’re on to a positive 2018
