adidas Golden Ball Award
The adidas Golden Ball was won by Croatia's Luka Modric as the competition’s best player. Members of the FIFA Technical Study Group determined the winner at the conclusion of the Final. Belgium's Eden Hazard and France's Antoine Griezmann finished second and third to receive the adidas Silver Ball and adidas Bronze Ball respectively.
adidas Golden Boot Award
England's Harry Kane finished as the leading goalscorer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ to win the adidas Golden Boot. France's Antoine Griezmann and Belgium's Romelu Lukaku finished second and third respectively.
If two or more players are tied on goals, the winner is determined by total assists. If assists cannot split them, the players who played the least minutes will emerge with the prize.
The adidas Golden Boot accolade is coveted by every top striker on the planet, but only the highest scorers at the FIFA World Cup™ finals are awarded it. Here are the list of winners:
2018: Harry Kane (England) 6 goals
adidas Golden Glove Award
Belgium's Thibaut Courtois won the adidas Golden Glove as the tournament’s best goalkeeper, as decided by the FIFA Technical Study Group. Iker Casillas, Oliver Kahn and Gianluigi Buffon are amongst the previous winners. Until 2006, the award was called the Yashin Award in honour of the former goalkeeper Lev Yashin.
FIFA Young Player Award
France's Kylian Mbappe won the FIFA Young Player award. The award was created to recognise the impact made by young footballers in the FIFA World Cup. The tournament is constantly being rejuvenated by fresh talent – many of these players are relatively unknown even before the opening ceremony, but emerge as household names after the event.
The award will be presented to the player with the biggest impact at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Technical qualities such as skill, style and charisma are taken into account, but so are other important factors such as a sense of fair play and a genuine impression that the player is playing for the love of the game.
Recognising the Young Player is a valuable promotional tool for football, and an important moment for the future career of the triumphant young player. The winner must have been born on or after 1 January 1997.
FIFA Fair Play Trophy
Spain won the Fair Play Trophy which goes to the team with the tournament’s best disciplinary record. The winner is selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
Colombia were the winner of the Fair Play Trophy at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
