I don't know where I discovered it at first but I revived this idea on Steemit a little while ago. That is why you will see more than one Chain Story on my blog.
There are some reasons why some writers will not try it though.
May I know why? I personally think the idea was great. Imagine 2 writers with a different ideas and different part of the world. Can corporate and write a good story. It sound exciting but too bad I am not a writer but I like to read since young. I read more than hundred books from Chinese to English.
Oh, I am not too sure. It is just hear-say.
The main factor is that it should be well written and well edited. In this case, if a chain story is not edited then it can make your writing on the overall look sloppy. This may deter publishers from choosing your work.
To add to what @zakludick had mentioned I think that it may be difficult for some individuals to work with anothers creativity in the sense that you have an idea of the direction however the other party has a different picture in mind. Phew that's a long sentence, lol.
So basically you need to be very adaptable and it can be challenging carrying on a story from anothers perspective.
