Digital Suicide

Another young monk set himself of fire with a 12 gauge shotgun yesterday. Live on facebook. His final goodbye was addressed to R9K, an online board of 4chan, and not to any humans who he had actually touched in real life. The more people walk around pretending that this is a normal existence, the worse these outbursts will be; and the community from which they come keeps actively and openly expressing their belief that this reality is horror, and the normal people keep on ignoring them and offering nothing as a rebuttal. You want to see things get REALLY fucked up? Take away their guns and close down 4chan, bottle up their aggression and censor their ability to know that there are others who feel the same way. You think Al Quayda was bad? Put the offspring of Western Man in a black box and shake it up! Try forcing a purpose built warrior of civility, guided by a thousand year old code, with a 120 IQ, and stripped naked of his heritage and purpose, try forcing this strange created into believing that up is down and black is white. Just go ahead and see how that works out for you! Of course your plan B is not so good either, because if a handful of these suicides ever decide to meet up and split the cost of rent in some shithole district, and if they go to shitty jobs and eat shitty food while staying alive, then they will start to plan, and others will join them... So yea, rock and a hard place. If only there were some way to make a nice society. If only we could gain control of our propaganda. If only we were in a realm where the laws of physics didn’t prevent us from doing that. Oh well. Remember kids, Steven Hawking and all of science agrees, we must live in a shit society for all of time. Nothing we can do about it, so don’t even try.
