Planar Expedition - Fantasy Story - Part 1 - Eleya - Part 1
The world of Evyllon is a strange place. It is filled with fauna and foe, the weary and the dreaded. There is a beauty to everything though, there is a bit of magic everywhere. Magic resides in everything. Over the coming days, you will be following the stories of six adventurers in the land of Evyllon and more about the land itself.
From the time Eleya of Filendelle was a baby, her parents knew that she was destined to become a powerful arcanist. The first time her mother clasped her tiny hands, she sensed the undeniable pull of magic. And although it was the dead of winter, the plants that lay dormant by the sides of the river pulsed with new life that night, and the crickets and frogs sang loudly.
The Council of the Gray, also sensing the power within the child, approached her parents and asked that they be allowed to teach her. Her mother opposed it at first, since those trained by the Council of the Gray are separated from their families, but agreed to it once she saw the remarkable things her daughter could do. None of her other children showed such extraordinary talent, and she wanted to give her the best opportunities possible.
Under the care of Alwin the Elder, Eleya began her training and soon proved herself a prodigy by summoning a fire golem, magic far beyond her experience. As he trained her, Alwin became like a second father to her—and a great source of comfort, because aside from him, she has always felt alone. She doesn’t know the identity of her true family, although she has her suspicions, and her unusual talent often sparks hostility in her peers, who both envy her and find her intimidating. Therefore, despite the gratitude people show when she helps them, she has found life in the Council of the Gray to be lonely. Despite her oath of service for life, she hopes to one day find her family and be reunited with them.
Author's note: What is Planar Expedition? Planar Expedition is a fantasy tabletop board game that was created by me over the course of three years and I never published it. Just about all of the artwork is done, and the majority of the story is complete. It is too great of a story to not tell though...
Great post and I wish steemit had a sticky or pin option because this is one of those special posts. ??
Thank you very much! :) I wish they did as well.
I want to mention here that I was a part of this project and am no longer. This information can be used by the other owner of this project. I know it will be posted again somewhere on Steemit so I just want to make sure it is logged. Thanks!
