Holiday Booking | A 50 Word Short Story
The line for the best-selling author was long.
Toby hadn’t seen him for ages.
"Come back next time," said his assistant.
"But--"
"He's a popular man." She handed him a card.
The bookmark was signed by his father. "Sure. Next time."
He dropped it in the trash as he left.
This time the prompt in @jayna’s fifty word story challenge is "gift". So here's my take on the prompt.

Whoot! Go Andrew! Write many words! We need more zombie wordocalypse.
Wow, this is dripping with implications...
I love the title.
The assistant is so obliviously ignorant...
Toby's reaction to the autograph is priceless.
Awesome! :D
😄😇😄
Very well done, @thinknzombie! I love how the identity of the person in line is revealed. This is so poignant. And it really shows the power of micro-fiction; you have demonstrated how it’s possible to suggest a much larger story within the confines of fifty words.
Thank you @jayna! I'm really pleased with the story and grateful to have won that round.
Well done. I love your participation. Please keep it up!
Awesome.
