RE: Invisibility, and More Mischief from The Little Monkey in my Mind (From the Library of Unusual Twists- Fiction)
I'm always looking for ways to free us from that slavery and imprisonment, but I really do think that presence is one of the keys.
Any size vote is always appreciated, and I never look at the vote percentages that I get. I like the fast vote click, it shows enthusiasm!
I agree that presence is the key to imprisonment of the mind. Our minds are so full of thoughts and judgements. Presence helps us create gaps in those thoughts as you pointed out. I have not tried the flame exercise but I recognize it as a form of meditation. I'm currently taking a course on "mindfulness in counseling" which has me doing similar exercises like setting up a daily mindful meditation practice and being mindful (or present) throughout the day, like while driving or in the shower...etc. I agree that the thoughts in our heads are frequent at first but over time and with practice the gaps between the thoughts get longer. Great message in your post. I like how you impart your wisdom through stories of mysterious strangers who may be secret agents or may just be a figment of the imagination :)
