A Memorial Lesson Learned Pt 6

“Class dismissed! See you tomorrow!” said Ms. Feila.
Once outside, Emily and her friends had gathered together and started heading over to the brand-new Ex-Bakery. Emily, Joe, and Allie had just passed it this morning on the way to school, and it had a sign hanging down with the words, “Mrs. Treea’s Ex-Bakery: Now Open!”
It was Joe, Emily, and Allie Martinelle, Joshua, Hailey, James, Audrey, and David Garfield, Mellissa, Gabi, and Anna Bellins, Ellie White, and Tom Aloise in that group, and they were now walking on Main Street.
“So how did you know it was open?” asked Anna of Emily, who lived on the other side of town.
“There was a sign hanging off the building. You’ll see it when you get there I’m sure.” Replied Emily.
“Cool! I can’t wait! What did the newspaper say she had?” said Ellie.
“Cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, brownies, beverages of all sorts, candy, rice crispy treats, and more!” said James, quoting from the newspaper.
“How did you remember that?” asked Gabi in amazement.
“Probably because I was so anxious to get to get some of that stuff there!” said James.
They finally got there, and a lady that they all supposed to be Mrs. Treea was standing behind a counter, smiling a welcome to the new customers.
“Hello, everyone! I am Helen Treea, and all of your names are…?” she asked.
Everyone told her their names, and how old they were, and Emily said, “We were on our way home from school, and we wanted to check out your bakery.”
“Sounds good to me! If you have questions, ask me!” said Mrs. Treea.
The kids thanked her and looked with awe at all of the food.
What Mrs. Treea had said in the newspaper was indeed true. There appeared to be even more than what she had claimed in the newspaper.
“What shall we get?” asked Hailey of Emily as they looked at the cupcakes and cookies.
“I have no idea, but I will definitely get cookies and cupcakes, for I am sure the people at home will want stuff too!”
“You charge how much?” asked Gabi, who was Anna’s fourteen-year-old sister.
“You can give a donation, or you can buy a ten dollar membership for a month and you can drop in and get whatever you want for free!”
“That’s awesome! I think I will get the donation.” Replied Gabi, and everyone else agreed.
Once everyone had gotten their donations, they continued shopping.
“Emily, if you were to get three things out of the candy section, what would they be?” asked Ellie.
“That is for you to decide, because I don’t know.” Said Emily.
Ellie sighed, “Well, how about I get some chocolate covered fruit, some caramels, and some jelly beans?”
“That sounds good, but get whatever you want.” Said Emily.
Once everyone got what they wanted, they went home. The Martinelles and Garfields went on the Blooms Road, the Bellins and Ellie White lived on Edmund Road, and Tom Aloise continued on with them until he reached Windy Way, and continued on to his house.
“Wasn’t that place amazing?” asked Hailey, peeking inside her bag full of goods.
“That is a great place to put a bakery, it’s right on our way to school!” replied Emily, and they laughed.
“I believe you are right!” said James.
The Garfields and the Martinelles went home, and right as they walked in, they smelled something good, but were forced to wait to ask that question, because right as they went in:
“Mom! Guess what we did?” shouted Allison, of course.
“Did you go shopping?” asked Mom, seeing that they were all holding paper bags full of stuff.
“Went shopping for what?” said Allison, wanting them to try to guess all of it.
Dad knew the answer, of course, “You went to the bakery, didn’t you?”
“Yep!” replied Allison, excited.
“It was everything the newspaper claimed it to be! I’ll show you what we got after dinner, and don’t get nervous, Moses, we got extras for the rest of you who didn’t get to come.” said Emily.
“Cupcakes, cookies…” started Allison,
“Shh! Let them find out for themselves after dinner!” said Joe.
So Mom got the food on the table, and when everyone’s plates were empty, they showed them the things they got, and they enjoyed some yummy dessert.
