"The Unknown in the Darkness" a short story idea.
You come home at an owl's hour... tired, worn out... eyes falling and calling out for the sandman.
It's been raining non-stop for days now, coal gray clouds, many sour faces and lots of congested traffic is the aftermath of the storm. Opening the front door on the 4th floor with a disgruntled sigh, you put your car keys in a small dragon's mouth and place your long coat, dripping wet, on a tree's branch by the entrance.
The apartment downtown is dark and cold with no sounds or lights on.
A sudden feeling, a small tingle sets you off... you're not alone. You begin walking down the hall where there are pictures of adventures, old friends and good times, all along the wall on each side. Your mind is quiet, it's waiting... it's patient. Another door... not closed, but not open wide... it's there you sense the tension!
Shall you open it, shall you see what resides behind the mysterious divine?
Your fingers float up to the knob, brush the surface... just stop for a moment! A deep inhale, then exhale. Nothing's stopping you, you're ready to take the leap. The wood flings back and you're greeted with silence.
