After a month of housework, Aziz went to Banyuwangi, his wife with Zainuddin. After Aziz's death, Zainuddin himself rarely came home, except for sleep. Therefore after the departure of Hayati he intends to follow Hayati to be his wife. Zainuddin then followed the train to Jakarta. Zainuddin's hope was not achieved. Van Der Wijck boat which is on the Hayati River is drowned in the waters near Tuban East Java. Hayati was in the hospital, then he was not dead and was aware and said to Zainuddin, "I am still holy and my love is only for you Zainuddin". Because the wounds in his head Bias can not be saved. Hayati died and Zainuddin felt lost. Hayati is buried in the front yard of Zainuddin's house in Surabaya.
