One Nasty Escapade (Short story)

5:30pm read the time as I stared lazily at the big black office wall clock hanging on the wall. I was exhausted. Today's been tasking. It was closing period and I decided to take a stroll to the bar down the road. My nerves need some calm. A fine young man I am, the admonition of ladies, a ladies man you might think. I let out a sigh as I got to the bar entrance, adjusted my clothes, peered at a side mirror of a car and smiled at the face I'm seeing. I smirked!

"How'dy John" I said as I take my seat at the bar. John, a bartender, has become my favorite among others. We became more than the "customer-seller" relationship. Like a brother it seems. He knew my antics as I knew his. "you look like piece of crap" he joked as he poured a glass of wine. I brushed it off. I knew he was joking. I cooled off as we gisted and threw subtle jabs at each other. Man was crazy. We continued in this manner and (it) took us some time to notice a feminine figure sitting two seats away from where we are. It seems she just arrived. Girl, a beautiful one. Maintaining her poise in a dignifying manner. Her beauty was enchanting, like that of a goddess. Her eyes shown like diamonds and lips, full and glistening. She was adorned in arrays of ornaments and an overflowing dress which hung tight to her skin accentuating her hips. Indeed, a beauty to behold. John wasted no time in attending to the damsel. I ogled on and smiled intermittently as I stared at her. She did same. I'm a ladies man remember? Well, not wasting any time, I hit it off.

9:00pm, we checked into a hotel. Dinner was light and we hit the sheets immediately. What came over me, I couldn't decipher. I wanted a feel of her body. Girl was feeling same. Why would I resist? Clothes came flying off and we had sex. 7:00am and girl already got up and prepared to leave. I was still on bed sleep was resounding after yesternight's romp. She dropped her card containing her contact. "come around, I'll be waiting" she whispered. I smiled sheepishly as I see her leave.

Work for me that morning was crappy. Damn! Girl was all over me, in my head. Concentration was far as girl occupied my thoughts. I couldn't wait to meet her and she what she has in store for me. I made a stop by at my apartment to freshen up. I bounced into the street heading for girl's location. Locating where she stays was not such a big deal for me as I knew my way around town. I got there in no time. Street was a little bit deserted as I try to find her house in particular. I saw a group of boys walking down the road and reached out to them. They quickly described the house while pointing to it. I went straight ahead and stopped at a large gate leading into a compound.
"who's there?" a weak voice from within answered as I knocked on the gate. Gate opens and I saw a frail, old woman.
"Good evening mama", I greeted. "Good evening my son. What do you want?"
"I am looking for a lady named Sandra(as this was girl's name). Sandra Johnson", I responded. Woman gave me a concerned and puzzled look.
"Sandra Johnson?"
"Yes, Sandra Johnson. She told me she lives here" I said as I handed her the contact card. Street name intact. House number, the same.
I observed her as her mood changed. "I'm worried my son. Aren't you one of her relatives? I thought you all heard the news?
" News? What news? " I asked bewildered.
" There's no Sandra here anymore. The Sandra Johnson you're looking for died two years ago and her things have been moved out from this compound by her family"
I froze as scenes from last night played before my eyes. I was zapped back to reality by the woman's voice. I walked away, so soaked in sweat as fear and confusion gripped me.
