Our Intellect, our Doom – Fiction.
The world is at war and Russia is losing. The rest of the countries have allied their forces against them. Unless there is a significant turn of events, it will be over for the vast nation, as troops have already penetrated inside their boundaries. Desperation has taken over their military officials and most renowned scientists, who happened to have created a drug that enhances an individual’s intellect to unknown limits. Maybe hope is not over… yet.
-Bye, mother! Remember I am hanging out with Eliza after school.
Natasha was a 16-year-old student from Moscow who loved music and spending time with her friends and girlfriend. She was tall and a little chubby. Nothing out of the ordinary to be true. Average grades, average routines. There just didn’t seem to be any apparent reason why a group of soldiers would step out of a white van and kidnap her. They gagged her mouth and sedated her.
She wakes up, probably after half a day, feeling dizzy and still a little numb. Across the room, which looks like some sort of lab, she can see two blurry figures arguing.
-I cannot believe you brought kids for this! It’s infamous and counter-producing. If – the irritating voice emphasized on that word – the drug results effective, they might as well just use it against us! Don’t you see the risks!?
-Chill out, Dimitri – replied Dr. Bervatov, Head of the Russian Ministry of Research – They are simply test subjects. Remember the drug has worked better in young and low-stressed minds. A trained soldier or one of us would not meet the requirements just yet. An improvement must be done before we are able to consume it. Besides, both of them have already been exposed to it. It is just a matter of hours before we see the results.
Suddenly his voice appeared to fade away and Natasha passed out.
-Hey – a male voice was heard.
-Hey, wake up! Repeated the same voice.
Natasha sluggishly opened her eyes and saw a teenagers before her. He had brownish hair and light green eyes.
She felt the urge to ask where she was, but she didn’t as she analyzed the situation quickly. She had all the information she needed to know. They took her to a governmental program and her brain activity had been enhanced throughout a drug of some kind. It was obvious based on the uniforms her kidnappers were wearing, the laboratory, the two men’s conversation (which she inferred they were scientists) and the way she is applying logical thinking now (old Natasha would have never guessed all of that).
-So you are aware of our situation now – said Nicolai – Just know that I already thought about any way of getting out, but there is nothing we can do.
Natasha just had to take a look around to notice he was right.
-Bravo! – exclaimed Dr. Bervatov , who had been listening to them, while entering the room – Your critical thinking has definitely increased. But we did not bring you here to become the next Sherlock Holmes. You are now Russia’s last hope to avoid defeat. You will outsmart everyone around the globe and be able to create weapons and better technology to be victorious! This is your chance to redeem yourselves from your meaningless lifestyles and do something for your nation to be proud of!
The young couple underwent an intense week of preparation, watching hundreds of thousands of videos, at 7x speed, which taught them everything they needed to know about Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanics, Tactical Operations and more sciences. Their faster brains were able to process and retain all of that information rather easily.
Soon after, they carried out their first project.
The young geniuses developed an Unstoppable Gun, which basically could penetrate incredibly hard surfaces, till the point that if someone shot at the ground, it would reach halfway Earth’s core. Even though it wasn’t possible to manufacture a huge quantity of these weapons due to a lack of resources, it was a game changer. The invading troops very getting close to Moscow, but with this singularity, they had to start retreating. Just one single shot and they could bring down choppers, jets, warheads and tanks!
-You have done a great job, my pupils. Or probably I am the pupil now; I don’t even know any more. Thanks to you, we will live another day, but that is not enough. Our leaders want you to take things to another level: you will make us as smart as you are. We want you to develop the same drug but make us able to consume it. It is the only way to ensure Russia’s future!
The two of them started working on it. It was easy to determine what the issue was in the first place. They modified some amino acid components inside it and they were over, but then, Nicolai asked Natasha:
-This is our chance.
-You are right – She replied. Natasha stopped being that warm girl she used to be. That’s the price she had to pay for her habilities.
Their intelligence made them realize how insignificant that war was. Their regime was chaotic and greedy. They had to do something about it.
After just some hours, the new drug was ready. Dr. Bervatov ran some tests to see if it was safe to use, although he always trusted the kids for he thought they now shared his same vision of the world. And so after positive results, he inserted it in most of generals, ministers and rest of leaders of the nation. The first couple of hours the drug worked so effectively that they had already orchestrated a plan to take over the world. Nothing could stop them. Except their bodies froze and a sudden dead followed. None of them survived; their neural system simply disconnected. The pair had modified the drug in such a way that it was impossible to notice the lethal outcomes it would cause.
Now the world got rid of them, and with the use of the technology they had created themselves, the couple decided to take over the country and make a convenient peace with the rest. At least until it is necessary.
Awesome story dude!
Thank you, my friend! I have been eager to read more of your posts, but I think you decided to give it a break.
What happened was that I got sick two weeks ago, because of an infection, so I've been resting.
Ohh that sucks, man. Hope you get better soon and get back to it!
Just like all your stories, excellent!
