Opportunity Knocks.
He laid underneath the hard wooden bedframe all day waiting for little Johnny to get home from school.
Johnny's mom was busy vacuuming the entire house. She always did a little bit of cleaning before she broke out the vodka bottle and begin watching her shows.
Johnny's dad was a businessman and was usually working.
He rarely came home during the week. When he wasn't working on a case he was undoubtedly working on some other woman.

Johnny's mom was no fool.
The vodka bottle was a coping mechanism. In truth, their house was in complete disarray.
Not as much as her emotions though. When people drink and let their emotions get to them, they tend to weaken their immune system. They weaken something else too. Something most people don't know about.
The invisible barrier.
Opportunity was a particularly soft demon. He wasn't red with long horns like most of his friends. On the contrary, he was blue and had a small round head.
Was he a sweet creature, like you see in the movies? Someone that was misunderstood by his peers and needed a human friend?
No. Opportunity was a demon. Being underestimated by those around him only made his desire to become born into the human realm all the more real.
It was about 4:00 when Johnny came home to find his mother passed out on the couch. On the TV a group of women loudly discussed their feelings about the president of a local book club.
"She always gets so tired when dad's not home." Johnny thought.
He was a good kid, and always respected other people's feelings.
He snuck upstairs trying to be as quiet as possible.
Opportunity stood in the closet near Johnny's room. He listened to each footfall intently. Soon the time would be upon him.
Johnny opened his door and sat on the edge of his bed. He figured this was a good time to check out the new CD that he had borrowed from a friend of his. He was about to turn on his stereo when he remembered that his door was open.
"Oops. I don't want to wake mom."
He was very considerate.
As soon as Opportunity heard the door latch he knew that the time had come.
Knock knock.
Knock knock.
Johnny figured his mom must have woken up and was now bringing him his afternoon snack. He was feeling particularly hungry.
Looking in the direction of the doorway, Johnny then uttered the words no human should ever speak without being absolutely certain who is on the other side of the door.
Come in.
Come in he did.
As soon as the door opened Johnny felt his life force begin to fade away as it was replaced by a demonic presence. He wanted to scream but he wasn't here long enough to even get a single sound out.
Opportunity knocked.
Opportunity was born.
Ladies and gentlemen, pay attention.
You never know when Opportunity may be just around the corner.
I heard someone knock on my door last night. I thought it was my husband. I was pretty rude to whoever knocked because they woke me up. He never uttered a response to me saying "f#$ off." Since my husband seemed perfectly happy with me when I got up this morning I now have to wonder if it was really him knocking....
It was probably my roommate. He's the most inconsiderate person I've ever met. He just soaked bunch of clothes in bleach right outside my door so now the whole house stinks like bleach right before I want to go to bed.
Interesting story, the opportunity must be obtained with diligence and earnest.
Well in this case opportunity was a demon so that is not right.
