The hospital room- PART 1 - An original short story by Giantbear
Sarah woke up and had no clue where she was. She looked around her and saw that her arm was connected to a drip. Her whole body pained and she felt totally miserable. She lay with her eyes closed for a while hoping that there would be some kind of memory of what happened to her, but nothing came to mind. She tried to lift her head but she couldn't. She was definitely drugged and she felt quite out of touch with herself. She was in a hospital of some kind, but she had absolutely no idea why or what happened to her.
There was a bright light shining straight in her eyes and she kept her eyes closed to protect them and listened to the machine next to her beeping. She had no recollection of how she got there. An alarm went off next to her and she heard footsteps coming down the hallway. She expected someone to come and see what was happening but no one came into the room and she heard people rushing past the door.
Suddenly it was dark again. A few hours passed and when she woke up again she realized that she was still in the same place as before. She was still hurting terribly on her left side and tried to feel around on the bed for something to make an alarm so that someone could come and help her. She found a button and pressed it and saw the red light flashing. She lay there for a few seconds and heard footsteps coming towards the door. She heard voices but she had no idea what they said.
Sarah tried to open her eyes, but the light was too sharp. Someone finally turned off the light above her head and she was so grateful. She tried to open her mouth to speak, but her mouth was too dry. It took a few seconds for her eyes to adjust to the new light setting and she could finally open her eyes.
She had no idea where she was, something did not feel right and this was no ordinary hospital room. Someone fiddled with her drip and she could feel some calmness coming over her.....
She felt paralised as she watched as the two unfamiliar creatures leave the room....
